This policy report was led by Dr Joanna Sparks who was a Policy Fellow at the University of Aston. There are two documents – a briefing and a report. The report was developed through review of scientific literature, engagement with members of the HVB Network and a series of stakeholder workshops with cross-sector academic and industry experts.

A commissioned report prepared by Lucid Insight with HVB, that explored innovation from within and beyond the HVB Network, to provide inspiration for further research, development and collaboration in the UK to realise the full value of these crops.
The overall aim was to identify and review exemplar plants and fungi that are suited to UK climate conditions and present an opportunity, in combination with industrial biotechnology, to deliver higher value biorenewable products.
