Research Scientist vacancy at Myconeos

Myconeos are looking for a Research Scientist in Microbiology to join their growing team. The role will provide specialist technical support to Myconeos for production and research work allied to the company aims relating to fungal and food research and associated projects. Specifically, the role will include management and running of projects at the Myconeos laboratory, including;
(a) Biochemical and microbiological work to investigate the development of sexual crossing and other techniques to deliver new strains of fungi from the classes eg. Penicillium, Aspergillus, Fusarium for novel applications.
(b) Characterisation and evaluation of newly bred strains for commercial application in food and ingredients (colours, flavours enzymes, bioactives), biofermentation, mycoprotein production, mycoremediation, plant science and animal science.
(c) Engagement with our international research clients and partners to deliver fungal solutions.
(d) Delivering client led services in fungal microbiological analysis and remedial actions required.
