HVB member Benjamin Lichmann of the University of York has been awarded a Future Leaders Fellowship by UKRI to study Daphniphyllum macropodum, an East Asian tree which produces unique complex nitrogen-containing alkaloids with potential medicinal properties. The project will seek to determine the mechanism of production as well as developing platforms for production of the alkaloids in sufficient quantities for further study. HVB will look forward to sharing updates about the project's findings as they become available.
