UKI2S-BBSRC interactive seminar on spinning out and raising venture backing in engineering biology to shape our future policy engagement
The BBSRC and UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund (UKI2S), a venture fund backed by BBSRC, are pleased to invite you to an interactive Q&A session on spinning out and raising venture backing in the engineering biology space. This free, online seminar will take place on Friday 03 December, 11:00 – 12:00.
Two of the UK’s most successful biotech and ag tech entrepreneurs, Simon Sturge (CEO Kymab, founder Ribotargets, Chair Nemesis Bioscience) and Gilad Gershon (CEO, Tropic Bioscience) will discuss their experiences of successfully spinning out early stage research, raising substantial venture funding in the engineering biology space and exits. The BBSRC will outline its support for translational activities whilst the UKI2S will provide a short view on the good, bad and ugly of raising capital and working in the start-up ecosystem.
Although this seminar is aimed at senior academics, we also actively encourage more junior members of the Network with a keen interest in the commercialisation of research to attend.
