Molecular adaptations in genes linked to genome stability

The detailed genome of the great white shark which has now been released reveals molecular adaptations in genes linked to genome stability including those known to have a role in DNA repair and DNA damage response. These adaptations may have a beneficial role in both wound healing and protection against cancer.
