HVB will fund three Enterprise Fellowships to provide support for an individual to enable progress of a concept towards commercialisation. Enterprise Fellows will be supported by a mentor funded by HVB.

  • Funding is for individuals at institutes eligible to receive BBSRC funding
  • Fellowships are intended to enable progress towards commercialisation
  • Up to £70k funding, additional in-kind or cash contributions preferred
  • Up to one year’s duration
  • Mentor support will be provided for successful applicants
  • Two stage evaluation process – application form review and interview of short-listed candidates

The guidelines and application form for HVB Enterprise Fellowships are available in the resources panel.

Updated guidance: An applicant who holds any executive office in an incorporated company cannot use an Enterprise Fellowship award directly to benefit a company they own or have started.

COVID-19 update: Due to the current difficult circumstances connected to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have put measures in place for flexible deadlines. Please see below for the details:

If you are able to, please submit the fully completed application form by 11:00 on 15th April 2020.

However, if you are not able to do so, please complete as much of the form as you can by the deadline, ensuring that at least Q1 (title), Q2 (applicant's details) and Q3 (summary) are submitted by 11:00 on 15th April. This will ensure that your application is included in the current round for review.

If you require an extension to submit your full application, we will allow extra time, but all fully completed application forms must be submitted before 11:00 on Monday, 27 April 2020.

To apply, please email the completed application form to hvb-network@york.ac.uk. For enquiries, please email Dr Caroline Calvert, HVB Network Manager, via hvb-network@york.ac.uk.
