HVB Training course:

Technologies for discovery, development and production of high value biorenewables 

University of York

22-23 September 2020

This two day interactive course will cover key technologies and techniques required to underpin many HVB pipelines. The course will cover a diverse range of techniques and will include lectures, practical demonstrations, a visit to the Biorenewables Development Centre at York and networking opportunities. 

The course will be delivered by the Bioscience Technology Facility, Department of Biology, University of York ( and content will include:


Protein production

Molecular interactions and biophysics

Metabolomics and proteomics

Biorenewables raw materials and waste

HVB will cover the cost of this course, lunch and tea/coffee breaks on both days and overnight accommodation in York on 22nd September 2020 for participants. A short summary of the course is available in the resources panel. 

The course is open to all HVB members, but only a limited number of places are available. To apply, please complete the online registration form. Information provided by the applicant on the form about how the course will benefit them will be used as the selection criterion to select successful applicants. Deadline for applications is 27th July 2020 and successful applicants will be informed by 31st July 2020.

We advise participants to book travel nearer the time of the event. Travel costs do remain the responsibility of the participant and appropriate insurance should be in place if necessary.
